Lately it looks like I’ve been only cooking beige things so I thought I’d do a montage rather than a post each beige thing I’ve cooked.
Pancakes with blueberries were a success and putting the blueberries in the batter was even better than on top.
Non secular spiced buns. I couldn’t be bothered to put the cross on my hot cross buns.
And 2 lots of cornbread. The plain cornbreads using polenta and fresh corn were great with a chili con carne. I can’t remember which recipe I used but here is one I definitely looked at for inspiration. I then decided that they would make good breakfast buns so went about making sausage cornbreads. They sort of worked but were too greasy for breakfast and I didn’t get through all of them.
I’ve decided for my next post it must be something that is not bun/bread or pancakey. So I think I’m going to do a wheat and gluten free chocolate brownie from my new Leon Book 3. Baking and Puddings. If you are reading this Tom, I’ve had the book ages and I didn’t buy it last week I promise.
